Scottish students read the book and made this wonderful cartoon

Students of Balornock Primary school in Scotland produced this very nice animation under Comenius school project "3Ls= Lignhouses link lands"

Polish students read the book and they reflected on the following activities and topics:

- they drew the book covers
- they drew their fears and discussed what they do to overcome them
- they wrote letters containing information how to overcome fear (message in the bottle)
- they built lighthouses out of building bricks
- they prepared booklets about lighthouses in Greece (Aleksandria lighthouse) and famous Portuguese fishermen villages
- they made their own lighthouses

After studying the book, Greek students

  • Talked about their sweet dreams and nightmares, draw them and wrote about them.

  • Described the view from their bedroom window and drew it.

  • Talked about their parents professions and the difficulties they face, but also stated why they are so proud about them.

  • Found out that they knew quite many words from the story and learned a few more.

  • Made their own lighthouses of love and hope...

  • Made cards with lighthouses.

  • Interviewed fishermen and visited the two closest lighthouses. Attended educational programmes about lighthouses and visited an exhibition with lighthouses equipment.

  • Recorded their voices reading the story.

Here are some samples of our work...

1) what do you see from the window of your bedroom? is it a natural or anthropic environment? make your own window and show us what you see.
2) Usually have you any fear? It comes from real or fantasy? Can you draw it?
3) What english words from the story do you know ? can you make a short vocabulary showing the words of the story conneted to the sea?
